Let me clarify this a bit more:
Whether it's basic or not, ANY move that focuses it's on such major areas can obviously stun/injure an opponent (if not paralyze them) if hit with the right amount of force. Remember how the DDT was when it first debuted? Sure it's a "run of the mill" move now, but realistically it's actually one that would put the fear of god into anyone. On TV nowadays, the German Suplex is executed as to where it targets the back of the opponent, as where Hoffman's variation is intended for a much more important part of the human anatomy. Also, if we push Hoffman as a "master of the German Suplex", wouldn't it being the last in a sequence of moves actually somewhat diminish it's effectiveness, especially if it targets the neck? On top of that, especially if we follow Joe's idea for it to be a Snap variation that Hoffman can practically hit anywhere, anytime? That would add unpredictability to the move, as the opponent would never see it coming.
Just my two cents.

Okay, cool, I think for the most-part we're ready to run with it and see where it goes!!
Onto task1 with you chap and a little 'introductory interview'.
Feel free to use, as the interviewer if you so wish, Todd Grisham, Josh Matthews or the always-lovely Christy Hemme.

A German Suplex and a high angle german suplex are 2 different variations of the same move. If you are meaning you are doing the high angle one then fair enough as thats the one you'd see more in Japan. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Arc4rMZnVQ&feature=relatedA few of them show the high angle ones. Its a bit harder to pin from, but not impossible. Certainly not on the 'big' guys who are more inflexible (like Gower and Samson). I had assumed you were just doing a normal German.

OR two options: 1) use the Backdrop Driver instead. It;s suitably old school and simple and can be bridged but is not being used by anyone. Check the vid of mostly Dr Death using it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxanIU_8Ka0&feature=related 2) Innovate it and Say basically it's a German Suplex but it lands much closer to a Backdrop Driver so the emphasis is the slam on the back of the neck and shoulders rather than the normal German where the landing is much more on the back. Putting in that is start with the waist lock but instead of going directly over the wrestlers head the opponent is lifted over the wrestlers shoulder and driven down to the mat. A German Suplex Driver if you will.....
